Waiting for Han(e)s – A Theatrical Voyage at the Hayadit Theater

A voyage through space, time, and images; five women and one man, one guide, a dilapidated olive wood carpentry workshop with a glorious past; and men, who arrive, finally, at the end (with some luck).

A voyage from unity to solitude, and from solitude to unity ◊ From assimilation to emphasis of the individual world, and from emphasis to fusion ◊ Between abundance and deprivation, between deep slumber and valuable moments of awakening ◊ From sweeping changes to “Nothing’s gonna change my world” ◊ Between the woman giving in to her masculinity, and the man exposing his feminine alter ego ◊ Between the known and the yet unknown; between the expectation of the miracle – and non-existence ◊ Between collapse and recovery ◊ From one moment to the next, and for all eternity.

A fortieth birthday, a man with a gun, a gym teacher, an Indian guru ◊ Europe: the mother’s kitchen, the horse-woman – two Arab wanderers, and finally: The Beatles ◊ These will be our garments today, for the in-between moments, the moments in which images of our lives are exposed.

Our visions, feelings, rising and floating, forced out, as false enchantment. Great endless chant of our humble, self telling stories, stories that are but dust…
